I have not heard any talk about Jake Stilling, who wrestled some varsity at 184 last year. Will he remain at 184?

Ritter will be starting this year.

You sure about that?

If that is the starting line up the Badgers have to feel  pretty good about 165;174;hwy. They have to feel there could be qualifiers at 125; 133; 149; 184 (which ever guy makes it). That should be a pretty good year overall if they could get 7 qualified for nationals

National Qualifiers at 125 and 133?  Lets first worry about being competitive on the varsity level.

not sure about anything.  always the red shirt option for those frosh.  it will be great for those boyz to compete against each other.

wrastle63

True, but doubt they get redshirted. They performed at a high level last year, and show more upside.

^ This.  I'll be pleasantly surprised at 133, if stick' goes .500 in his first year of varsity Big 10 wrestling.

From Milwaukee to St Paris.

I may have missed it, but anybody know if David Chadd is still wrestling?  I don't see his name on the updated roster.

Maryland's heavyweight 2 years ago Spencer Myers also played football.  He didn't start wrestling on the team until after the bowl game.

Have the Badgers ever let anyone do both Football and wrestling?
With the level of commitment it takes to play football or wrestle at the D1 level I just don't think it would be possible to compete at a high level in two sports, especially ones that are back to back.

Lorenzo Neal - Fresno State - played football and was a 4th round pick.  Also an All-American in wrestling.  Difficult for sure but "possible".

Anyone hear how Lantz is doing getting to 25?
Sounds like Ritter is pushing hard at 84 and looks like the starter.
Could Robertson push the guys at 97?
wonder how 41; 49; 57 are shaking out?

wrastle63

Doubt Ricky could jump up two weight classes and beat out guys who have trained for 197 and are bigger. Feel his chances are best against Christensen or Ritter. Also interested to see who starter is at 141 and 149. I'm sure we won't find out until after the opens.

mkm13

Since Robertson wrestled 184 the year before and was apparently to big to be effective at 174, I think he could be competitive at 197 with the guys we have if he focused on getting bigger all offseason.  I certainly think he would beat Peissig.  Reinhardt would probably have a small edge assuming he has grown into a big 10 sized 197.

wrastle63

Yea Peissig and Reinhardt are both big ten sized 197 pounders. I feel like we will see the infusion on youth at this weight class along with weights like 141.

billymurphy

Robertson did beat Peissig in an early season tournament prior to his 174 brain fart idea. I would go to 197 if I were Robertson.
