I thought they might put McKee ahead of Barnett, being the head to head result lately.

DocWrestling

Appears that Ayala not wrestling Barnett paid off
Of Course, this is only my opinion and no one elses!

That is a head scratcher for sure. Worked out okay though. I think it is good for Barnett to wrestle Davis instead of DeAugustino again.

Its sad just how bad of shape the UW program is in.  It is no better today than it was under Davis.  I wonder if Mac will move fast on finding new leadership for this program???

Here's a weird scenario: If Starocci MFF out of the tournament, the loser of the 7/10 matchup will qualify for NCAA's because they will advance to the final 8. If Maylor wins first round, there's still a chance he doesn't make it since he'll be up against the #2 seed and if he loses, he'll face either Sparks who he beat 4-1 or Washington who pinned him last year. He'd be better off losing first round! (I'm assuming in this scenario he'd have a pretty decent shot at and at-large bid).

Agree, hard to look at the seeding and four weights 12th or worse. Hope the Badgers can get a bunch of upset wins but it does not look good.

Well, if seeds play out to allocations we get, what 5 guys. Next year we graduate 3 of those 5 and I unfortunately I only see Amos as an additional qualifier next year making it 4.  Off to the portal we go.

What place would you consider success? looks like 8/9 on those two projections? Top six would be huge for this year's team

DocWrestling

Iowa fans will be going crazy if the finish 4th.

Is Brody Teske the best #14 seed ever?
Of Course, this is only my opinion and no one elses!

I think they can do better than 4 next year. I would think Nicolar would be a qualifier at 125 next year. I would not be surprised to see him wrestle into a qualifying spot this weekend. I think there is a good shot to qualify 33 and/or 41 with some combination of Fugitt, Coy and Bobzien. From what we saw from Fugitt he could have possibly qualified this year. Hopefully they can be better at 157 with either improvement from Mechler or with Goebel or George. I think there could be a qualifier at 74, 84, or 97 with some combination of Anderson, Condon, Russo and the 3 incoming freshman (Colin Kelly, Wyatt Ingham and David Malin).

DocWrestling

That is some serious optimism!  I do think Rivera will be a qualifier next year and could even do it this year
Of Course, this is only my opinion and no one elses!

Hopefully they can pick up Hayden Halter......☠️
