Maybe so. I do not think preseason there was a lot of optimism that the Badgers would get 5 qualifiers this year. I seem to remember a poster predicting 2 or 3 back in December or January.

Who really cares if its 4 or 5 qualifiers?  That is a success?  Your standards are very low.

I will be honest that as a fan who wants excitement for the NCAA tournament I am probably more interested in All-Americans.  I would rather see 3 All-Americans than have 10 guys qualify and not make it to top 8.

I want top 15 guys that have a chance to make the blood round and be one match/upset from being an All-American.  That is where the excitement is.

We have 2 of those guys for this year.  I want to see that get to maybe 4.  I am extremely impressed by any wrestler that can qualify for the NCAA tournament as an individual accomplishment but those 15 to 32 seeded guys don't create a lot of fan excitement this time of year

Not at all. Max is pretty much a slam dunk to get an at large unless things went really sideways he is 13 in the coaches poll and has a 6 RPI. Liegel would be a little more on the bubble with 16 coaches and 17 RPI but should also get in. DJ and EB are in and Joey should be safe.

Historically (going back to 2009 ish)

A 16 seed has about an 8% chance to AA and if you claimed that seeds 17-33 all have an equal 3% chance to AA, there isn't sufficient evidence to disprove that contention.
