Sorry if I missed a post or discussion, Can someone clarify the seeds for the D1,2,3 team state tourney? Who's got who?
The harder you work, the harder it is to lose.

Coaches are getting together this morning(sunday)to seed teams
you can run but you cannot hide.

Why would they want to seed it?????  They should just use the random draw matrix the individual tournament uses and have them wrestle.  The first round matchups could be really exciting!!!  Just think Mukwonago and Stoughton first round so one of them can avoid making weight the second day and can beat the traffic home because they can leave early.  Sounds like a win.  It works really well for the individual state tournament.

proportionality
Basically...

The number of schools (128 D1 sends 8 schools, D2 = about 100*, D3 = about 100*) represents the approximate number of students enrolled and represented in those schools.
There are twice as many students 'total' in the D1 schools as there are in each of D2 and D3.
If this were not the case, and the 328 wrestling schools were divided into three equal groups by enrollment all D2 and D3 schools would be in 'D3'. The D2 schools would be the lower enrolled schools currently in D1.

This is all approximately correct and i may be off some, but this is the basic set up.

*I'm not certain these are 105 and 105 and also not exactly certain on the 328 total.

would love to see 16 from each.
take top 2 at regional and wrestle them at team sectional, 16 team sectional winners go to state.
bring it to the kohl center or dane county coliseum, 8 mats and start at 10am on friday by 3pm you would be down to 8 teams in each division then one more round friday to get it down to 4 teams each.
6 mats saturday morning at 11 am, wrestle the finals at 4 pm

I have watched the discussion for years in regard to the WI state wrestling series.
There have been many complaints about low numbers in weight brackets of regionals.
I had never paid much attention until this year....... I believe the problem is that you have too many regionals......
8 Sections for each division (divisions roughly equal numbers)
Weekend I Section Team Duals (We do a pigtail on Wednesday) Friday three rounds
Section champs go to state (8 team state bracket)
Weekend II Section Individual Tournament (Friday/Saturday).  This could be done in one day, some do.
Top two per weight go to state (16 man state bracket)
Weekend III "State"
Thursday Team Dual Championships
Friday/Saturday Individual Championships
This seems much simpler than the suggestions for changing the present WI. System than the ones I have seen mentioned (especially with some getting byes, etc.).

I have tons of discussions bout seeding they use criteria to seed with coaches input and sure enough still people crying and complaining. I guess it just doesn't matter what the WIAA does there will be people crying and complaining......just a joke. I would guess even in a so called perfect system some would be unhappy.

Lol at this

I would love to hear any argument that anyone would have to defend Coleman of getting #1  the truth is Random Lake is the only team they could beat    Fennimore and Stratford would both Agree   Coleman only  had that many qualifiers because Stratford got moved from that sectional.  Coleman  don't Evan make it to state if Stratford is still in that sectional  period.

The seeding was based off specific criteria that's they way seeding goes. So now you don't like seeding? I have heard tons and tons of talk about seeding and how great it is but if it goes contrary to someone's feelings then it's no good. Ummmm interesting.
