Here is my updated enrollment spreadsheet. If anyone knows of teams that are cooping, ending a coop, starting a new team, etc. Please let me know. Otherwise, this should be fairly close.

One corrections on your spreadsheet:

Saint Croix Falls has only accumulated 2 points in D2, the rest of their points were in D3, so they stay D2.

Are you sure? In 2024 they were in the state finals in D2 and in 2025, they were in the state semis in D2.

I stand corrected. I believe the first year of competitive balance, they were supposed to go to D1, but their enrollment dropped them to D3, moving them back to D2. The last two years they have competed in D2, so they should go up. Thanks for pointing that out!

The fact that Coleman and St Croix Falls have to be in D1 with those enrollments is criminal.

I thought you could only go up 1 division. If they still have D3 enrollment they should stay in D2 with competitive balance points

You can only go up 1 division at a time. Once you are in the new division, if you accumulate 6 points in a 3 year span in that division, you go up another division.

The congratulations SCF email
Said "promoted" to D1

Does anyone know what happens after the 2 year period do they drop to actual enrollment division or back to D2 then D3

Yes a round of applause to the WIAA for messing up things again.

So now schools of less than 400 will be competing against the largest schools in the state with enrollments over the 3k mark!

Round of applause please!

Look at other sports like Tomahawk in hockey a school of 300 ish and now competing against co ops of 10k possibly!

All because of private schools. Let's go back to 2 divisions one public and one private. Quit punishing the schools that are doing it right and getting punished!

Again, round of applause to the WIAA! They are probably trying to win a lawsuit from the 2010's

What's the idea behind small schools not being able to compete with big schools? I come from a division 1 district. We struggle with #s, no full line up, coaching commitment could be better, low/no parent support and low school support. We should probably go Div 3 if competitive balance was really balanced.

This is my question also.

Relegation!
As long as we are keeping score, I've got something to prove

Completely unfair to punish future athletes for what previous athletes accomplished.

So they are moved from D2 to D1, yet never were they the best team in D2? Makes perfect sense.

To make it easy, just relegate all the schools that start with Madison, or Milwaukee in the name.  I have not done the math, but I would estimate those schools averaged 7 wresters per school at sectionals.
