No one, and I mean no one, had Zan Fugitt placing at all, much less that high. We had high hopes for Rivera but not sure he'd win matches.

Try and be happy once in a while. It's a game changer.
Huh!  After Crookham took an injury year, 133 was so wide open that anyone in the field could have AA'd and I wouldn't have been too surprised.  Fugitt has talent (he was a top 50 recruit), was coached by world team member Gross and he had a nice run.  He did place a bit higher than I expected but certainly his garnering an AA wasn't too surprising.

One guy getting injured opens the whole field. Got it.

I'm too lazy to look back, but I don't remember one person predicting he'd AA on this forum

As long as we are keeping score, I've got something to prove

Another comment not to be taken seriously. Whenever a wrestler has success, it has nothing to do with current staff. Whenever a wrestler finishes below expectations then it's all because of Bono. I'm just a fan, who will continue to be a WI fan regardless of the coach but these types of arguments are clearly not objective. One injury allowed a 14th seed to place 4th🙄. I credit Zan's successful tournament to hard work, development, and peaking at right time.

Noone is debating whether he had a successful tournament (although I wish he had beaten Ayala).  And you don't think training and coaching of Seth Gross didn't help Zan's development?  If that's your view, I can't take your post seriously. LOL My whole point is that 133 had parity and there is not much difference between the 3rd seed and the 14th seed in this particular bracket.  Is there a weaker 3 seed than Nasir Bailey?  If so, tell me who?  But its not Zan's fault that 133 wasn't a top heavy bracket, so still I give him kudos and wish him well.

Was Seth traveling in from North Dakota every week to coach and train with Zan this season?

I give the coaches all the credit in the world for Zan finishing 4th. That doesn't excuse the sorry state of the UW wrestling program. It's great that WI is turning out great wrestlers. It sucks that Bono and crew can't keep them here. If it takes some serious groveling to mend the fences with AWA, the they should start doing it.

I think the Badgers will be alot better next year overall. Just that PSU and others are going to be so far ahead of the curve the Badgers aren't going to measure up in most people's eyes.

Can the Badgers finish between 7 and 10 in the big ten next year. I think that is a very good goal for them. Be competitive in 50 to 75% of their duals is another goal. I don't know their schedule for next year so just guessing.

Just going to hurt seeing top state talent  succeed at other programs. Bono has made that bed so we have to deal with it whether we like it or not. Being a mid level team which I believe that the Badgers are going to be is basically the stand under Bono.

I predict 15 to 25 next year at the tournament. It is just that the top 3 to 5 is going to be so far ahead that we just have to understand we have what we have and go forward with that.
