Nice win vs Bucknell that was heavily favored via Wrestlestat. Zan with a big win over a ranked opponent, Nicolar looked great, Condon with a solid win, Jens filling in for Russo and wrestled well even though undersized. A lot to like about tonight's win.

Great win by Mechler as well. Would have liked to seen Russo go as well as Mulvaney.

MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin wrestling team achieved its first victory of the season on Saturday, Dec. 7, with a 23-25 win over Bucknell on the road.
Cale Anderson delivered a crucial moment in the 165 weight class, securing the match's only pin in a winner-takes-all bout against Bucknell's Sean Walker. Anderson's quick fall at 0:44 earned the Badgers six points and sealed the victory.

Redshirt Freshman Luke Condon made an impressive start at 174 pounds, earning a significant victory with a decision win over No. 24 Myles Takats. Zan Fugitt also contributed with a notable victory at 133 pounds, defeating No. 25 Kurt Phipps in an 11-2 major decision.

In addition, three more Badgers secured wins in their respective matches. No. 25 Nicolar Rivera earned a victory at 125 pounds, Luke Mechler won his match at 157 pounds, and Gannon Rosenfeld secured a win at 285 pounds.

Looking ahead
Wisconsin wrestles again tomorrow, Dec. 8, in two duals. The team will face Bloomsburg at 10 a.m. in the Nelson Field House, followed by a matchup against Lock Haven at 4 p.m. in the Thomas Field House.
