The Answer to turning this program around is right in front of us.  Becker from Parkside has built a program that is better than the Badgers.  Same with Lacrosse and Eau Claire.  They could potentially hire someone like Dieringer and this mess will be fixed.  Or, we can stand around and admire the problem and blame NIL, Bono, Askren etc for another year.

It is not hard to figure out. One of the Askrens (pick one) bring in O'Toole or Parker K. (or both) plus a small guy coach.  Bring in a few former AWA's that have committed elsewhere.  Must have Charlie Millard wrestling in the red singlet.

Not going to matter if they cut the scholarships
Of Course, this is only my opinion and no one elses!

Yes i did. Great guy to have as a supporters for sure.

Fact is that there will be several programs that will fall victim to the new NCAA rules no matter how many donors are called on.

Programs don't have to share what they have had to before and that is going to hurt the Olympic programs.

If I am not mistaken some teams at the UW have already felt the sting of what is going to happen in April of 2025.

From a person outside what I Wisconsin known for, Football and hockey and recently in th past 15 years basketball. I would think the university would take alot more interest into those programs before olympic programs.

You are correct, but all the more reason to get the support that is needed to secure the programs future.  I have been told that the Big 10 will not allow sports to be dropped, and if they are TV revenue will be reduced.  Right now, wrestling and all non-revenue sports are the bast...d children at UW.  So, the only way to change that is to be self-sufficient.

The only way to flourish in the new game is to play the game.

O'Toole just built a house in MO. Probably not going to see him any time soon. Parker K, who knows.

With the new rules coming into place in 2025, not sure the conference can tell the members what they can and cannt do. Kind of the reason this lawsuit is here in the first place. Only time will tell.

What are your suggestions for the program to raise money?

Keep asking for money? Sure but that would actually involve some effort of the staff to get out and shake the pile of leaves a bit.

While it maybe great in your area of the same, my area has gotten so little contact it is hard to through any support Bono way. Heck Barry Davis was way more visible in my area than Bono.

Not sure what is the answer for raising money at this point.

From what I can tell Ted Kellner is only providing one scholarship.  Is that specifically for wrestling?

DocWrestling

We need you to compete with reduced scholarships, reduced coaching salaries/staff, reduced support, no upgrades to facilities and you need to cut your travel budget by 50% but you can still have a team.
Of Course, this is only my opinion and no one elses!

The right coach will make it work.  The right coach will find a way to make the scholarships, facilities and funding needed to compete at a high level.  Look no further than several D2 and D3 programs in the midwest.  What is controllable and what is out of our control is key.  The right person and people supporting will make an immediate and long lasting change for the program.

A new coach would need to take the Cornell route and find very smart wrestlers with academic scholarships.

True with that. How about saying the northwestern route. That is a big ten school.

Remember everyone has these idea in saying this school and that school does this and that. Wisconsin is in the Big Ten and there is NO other conference like the Big Ten. We need to look at the top.schools and do it better than they do at the same thing. At this point looking at the number 8 through 12 is where wisconsin needs to see what they are doing and do it better!

It always starts at home and making it a place that all athletes want to go.

Branch out into rural areas of states that are close by and get to know those coaches and athletes. States with less competition also. Look at what SDSU has done with recruiting rural kids. They have done it well and now. Getting maybe not the top transfers but soild transfer in and quietly have a top 10 program for a few  years. Bono name is still in those areas but he hasn't visited them in a while.

We need a staff that will get out and dig through that leaf pike. Along the way there are many big donors in those rural areas.
