I was wondering if anyone happen to attend the RTC Coaches Clinic this past weekend and had any feedback to it?

It was outstanding!!! Myself and 6 coaches from our staff along with our head girls coach attended. The sessions on mindset and nutrition were very helpful and took some good information from that. It was outstanding to have a very general question and answer period(non-technique questions, questions on adjusting to the college room, mindset etc etc) with all the wrestlers sitting down in front of us answering  our questions. They gave some very good answers, spoke very intelligently and were just a fun classy bunch. Very impressed by them!! Will make it  even more fun cheering for them now.

The technique question portion was fantastic!!! No gimmicky clinic stuff. Just a chance to pick the staff's brains and get some real good down in the trenches tips and techniques that I will certainly use this season. I have been to several clinics in my 23 years of coaching, this one by far was the most useful.

The complete transparency of the staff, getting to interact with them in a small, personal setting was awesome. I have been fortunate enough to have a good working relationship with this staff for a few years now, I feel even more connected to them and even more committed to help Badger Wrestling.

These sentiments were echoed by our entire staff, but also the 2-3 other staff's we where interacting with during the day!! Sure hope this becomes a yearly event and grows to more and more coaches.

Tony Cassioppi was very impressive as well. Great addition to the staff!!! Showed some great stuff, awesome coach and just a stand up, really good person!!!!

I was extremely impressed with the entire clinic from start to finish. To start we watched the Saturday match day. Very cool to see all of the Badgers get after it. Very impressed with the entire team and how close they seem. After the match day was done for the team, they came over in front of all the coaches and answered questions from the coaches. It was great to pick everyone's brain a bit.

Next was technique. Cassioppi was great. Went trough offensive and defensive staples in neutral, top, and bottom. Without a doubt great stuff that gets over looked at every level. Everything Tony showed was strait forward and very clear. And as I said, he made everything easy to understand why and how his techniques were simple adjustments.

Model talked wrestling mindset. He went through how it helped him in high school and through college. Great information and it helped understand what it was about.

To end the session Bono gave a state of the team. Who was in. Who was out. And information about the NCAA ruling and what it means for college sports. Unfortunately, we are going to see a lot more situations like Campbell. Football is going to get all the money and other sports will suffer unless they have huge NIL Funds.

In summary it was a great day. The team is young. But they are hungry and will battle. As one of our coaches put it, this was the best clinic he has attended. Very thorough with every aspect of information that was presented.

I agree 100% with Arm Drag and Fat Guy Rolls!

Outstanding clinic!  Very informative and things we can use in all aspects of our programs right away.

Loved the interaction with the athletes.

Straight forward about the program and yes, it will get interesting for wrestling at the college level.

Wrestling needs our help.  Almost like when " Save Olympic Wrestling" happened.

Can you pass along any further information regarding how the match day went and who were some of the guys you were impressed with and who we should keep an eye out for?  Is their lineup complete and what does that look like next week.

Great feedback - and cheers to the folks who organized this. It is nice to hear that they did such a wonderful job and that you found it beneficial.

An excellent event. I can't improve on the information already stated here, as I agree wholeheartedly with the other posts.
Get yourself to the next one.
