XC was probably the HARDEST game for a short-legged, tiny VO2 sporting high schooler I can think of, though potentially I think water-polo would have not worked well for a guy who sank like a rock back in the day.

Wrestling still the TOUGHEST sport, though, requiring more than just brutal hard work, but also a sickening disregard for injury.

Back in the day, we traded practices with our swim team. Holy cow, most wrestlers were puking up water and worn out after .5 hour. Play water polo for 15 minutes and tell me swimming is a wuss sport. That was tough.
If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong.

Definitely the only other sport in our school that had kids looking anything like the wrestling team.
