If he's from Iowa, I doubt it.   ;)

Nice hire, especially if they want to keep Braxton around.  It will be an interesting dynamic that is for sure. Is Model sticking around or is he gone?

Not sure it matters as Bono is still the man in charge.  As far as I can tell, Ben is not a big Bono fan, but I've never heard him have any issues with Reader or Gross and Tony seems pretty low key, so I assume he'll be fine with him.

So - the Badgers simply added another coach? Does that mean they have been operating with one less than the allowable limit for coaches previously? I know they have a few designations for some coaches, e.g., "volunteer coach," etc. Or is Cass designated as such? Anybody out there can illuminate the situation for me? Thanks.
Merely having an opinion doesn't necessarily make it a good one

Gross is no longer assistant. He transitioned to Head RTC coach.

Gross was pretty much demoted to RTC head coach.  Why do you need a coach for the RTC when the only wrestlers are Gross himself and Braxton?  Fact of the matter is that Gross will likely be jumping ship out of town soon enough.....

Did he tell you he feels demoted and will be leaving town? Or is it your uniformed opinion? Maybe... just maybe he feel committed to the Badgers and coaching staff and collectively as a staff they felt Seth could benifit the program more by taking over the RTC.
Big house"As part of my mental toughness routine ... I read the forum and try NOT to believe everything on here."

It's very strenuous!

Opinions are not facts. Because two people differ in opinions doesn't make one of them wrong.

Wow...what facts are you using for this take????  Facts do matter!  Did you not hear why he, by personal choice, moved to the RTC position. Demoted is so far off that it is hilarious. He has a family and has also started his own club which is doing well in its infancy. Seriously doubt is going anywhere soon

Coach V

How about Gross is the RTC coach so he can concentrate on making a world team and not the day-to-day college coaching items? Just sayin

Welcome Big Tony!!
You dont wrestle,your a wrestler

Nothing against Gross at all, trust me - but his chances of making a World Team are very slim at best.

Not trying to be a jerk, but you do realize Seth was the World Team rep at 61kg in 2022 right? Beat Daton Fix in a best 2 out of 3 to make the team. Then went to the World Championships and made the Bronze medal match. Beat Suleyman Atli who is a World Silver and World Bronze medalist. Lost to Rei Higuchi who has a World Gold, World Silver and Olympic Silver and then Arsen Harutyunyan who is 3x World Bronze.

So you're just incorrect here. Seth is absolutely there, or thereabouts, when it comes to competing for a World Team spot, especially at 61kg. Unfortuntely with the Olympic weights, he just can't make 57kg and isn't big enough to really contend at 65kg.

All that a true athlete asks for is a chance!!  Winning is hard and should never be taken for granted.  He has better than a slim chance by the way

Seth Gross got a graduate business degree from UW-Madison so he has many options available to him in the future beyond wrestling.

Yes, it will be difficult to make the World Team. Especially with Vito Arajau. But he did it before.

I wonder if Tony Cassioppi will continue to wrestle freestyle.
