One note. No way Otto is getting pinned at 197. He has not given up any bonus this year and has not been pinned since Peyton Robb pinned him in 2021.

Bummer for Rosenfeld. Was in good shape with the takedown. Would have been a really nice win.

I didn't see the meet, but I'd think this needs to be considered a pretty disappointing and discouraging loss.  Hopefully there were bright spots in some of the individual performances.

It was a pretty flat performance from start to finish. Even when highly favored, no bonus.

I think the lack of responses and/or excitement to this thread sums it up.  The Badgers looked flat.  Even their hammers had a hard time opening up big leads.  Hats off to Michigan State.

The meet started at 57 and went down hill right away. Mechler was down 5-0 going into the 3rd. Was taken down in the 1st and reversed in the second and chose top for the 3rd for some reason. We thought is was a strange decision against Saldate. He was promptly reversed to his back and pinned which really put the Badgers on the back foot. DJ did not look like himself at all. Maybe sick, hurt or bad weight cut but not the DJ we expected so down by 3 after 57 and 65 which is very unexpected.

Max wrestled well and Shane just got beat by a good wrestler. A match he could turn around so not a lot of concerns. Rosenfeld was a bright spot even though he got pinned. Had the only takedown of the match and was in good shape. Would have actually salvaged the dual with a win there and would have been a great confidence boost for him. Just made a technical mistake when they got to their feet. Terrill had a neck wrench and Rosenfeld tried to suck him which set up the toss to his back. Do not want to get tight there. Have to keep your hips back to avoid getting tossed.

Barnett wrestled fine. Could not get to much scoring but controlled the match. Nicolar wrestled well and got his 1st Big Ten win so that was great and Joey did Joey things and won going away. Pretty disappointing dual overall but there were some bright spots for sure.

Michigan State scored 7 bonus points - Wisconsin scored 0

Even if we won one more match by decision we still would have lost the dual because of giving up 2 pins and a major decision.

Starting the dual at 157 probably helped Michigan State. But those are the breaks.

Rosenfeld was winning when he got reversed/tossed to his back and pinned so that was a 9 point swing and that one match/move would have changed the dual from 15-22 to 18-16

MSU! WOW, Wisconsin losses to MSU. That should disgust everyone in the program. Maybe I am being too harsh but this just does not look good. Are there some individuals that are doing well, yes, maybe, but as a team this is a program way down and a change needs to be made.
