For some reason, I thought he was done at the collegiate level.  I am sure someone will fact check me on that

My assumption is that he will enroll second semester.

I also thought he was done as he missed his deadline to apply for medical redshirt.  We've seen the ncaa be difficult on transfers missing deadlines but as the last poster said, maybe he gets it done in 2nd semester.

Gomez had his medical redshirt approved today and there is some headwind he may be heading to Penn State since Shayne Van Ness is out for the year. Welcome to a world of NIL and a NCAA wild, wild west.

It's funny (not really) that all the sports talk radio "experts" downplayed the impact of NIL in all the non revenue sports.  I remember vividly them saying NIL was only going to end up being for the star QB or RB on the football team, or the star player on the basketball team.  They significantly downplayed or completely ignored how NIL would impact sports like wrestling.  The wild wild west fits as a description of our current state in the NCAA.

We have created a system where the best teams get the best transfers basically because of money. The rich get richer. To compete you need many megadonors or one big one.

All true. And it is this building lack of competitiveness that will destroy these sports - with the outcome largely predetermined fans will fade away (except those at few institutions who have competitive programs). Programs at lesser schools will begin to disappear and... before you know it, we will have NCAA boxing...oh yeah, that one's already gone. Why do professional sports put caps on spending and invert the draft order every year? Obviously, they are trying to keep things competitive...a lesson the NCAA has failed to learn...saddly. I'll miss this forum.
Merely having an opinion doesn't necessarily make it a good one

I hesitated to post this because it is probably not true and the person who posted it is anonymous.  Regardless, it is out there on the internet now for everyone to see so I thought it was appropriate to share it with the Badger fanbase.  Moderator, please delete the post if it is not appropriate.

If you don't have twitter you probably can't see the whole thread so I copied it below the best I could.

@Getitdoner17132 posted this:

"After what happened at Wisconsin I hear KJ had to promise to be his life coach. Booze and temper tantrums let the good times roll!"

@TheFranGable responded with three question marks
and then @Getitdoner17132 responded:

"The walls have ears and holes from the drunken bust up."

Love it when Willie visits the forum!

With KJ in his corner, I just hope he gets to where he needs to be on time.  Hate to be late for a weigh-ins.

Sounds like Gomez leaving WI wasn't the big negative that everyone assumed.

NCAA now looking at the possibility of creating a new division within DI with a pay to play league.  I guess the new president Charles Baker former governor of Massachusetts did not take Senator Ted Cruz's advice of do thing right or we may have to get involved.

Just another transfer who transferred in and transferred out just as quick.  I think we're going on a bakers dozen there, Hank.
