Congratulations to Cedar Grove-Belgium on qualifying for Team State last night!
Cedar Grove and Random both dominated their first round matchups and then put on an incredible show in the finals.  CG came out on top 35-33 with matches split 7-7 and 4 lead changes in the dual.  The outcome was in question literally until the last 3 seconds of the last match!  Great atmosphere, great strategy and heart showed by all the wrestlers.

Gotta show love to CG's program for continuing to build year after year.  They have one of those teams with no real holes and lots of capable backups which makes them just super tough to beat.

Also gotta respect Random Lake's ability to rise to the occasion.  Based on the previous dual meet (CG won by 20) and tournament results like the Big East (where Random finished in 4th place) it would have been easy to write them off, but they were every bit the "we've-been-here-before-and-this-is-our-house" bulldog you would hope to see.

If you're into records and such, Cedar Grove takes over from Random Lake who took over from Oostburg who took over from Random Lake who took over from Brillion in 2008!!  You are reading that correctly, it's been 16 seasons of a team from this conference representing Division 3 at team state!

Good recap CLC. You are right it was high school sports at its finest last night. Couldn't have been prouder to be a CGB parent and a RL alum (Just a little prouder as a parent this time...)
