October 10, 202 – West Bend, WI – Champion wrestlers, a state champion baseball player, and a pillar of the community joined the West Bend East and West High Schools Athletic Hall of Fame during a ceremony before the Homecoming 2022 football game on October 7

Details of their accomplishments and contributions include:

Brent Henschel – West Bend East Class of 1993

Prior to coaching local wrestling teams, Brent Henschel made his own mark on the wrestling mat, soccer field, and baseball field as a West Bend East student-athlete from 1990 to 1993.

In wrestling, Brent placed in the WIAA State Wrestling Tournament twice, taking home the championship as a senior in 1993. His career record was 123-18, with a perfect 39-0 in 1993. In fact, Brent won two state championships in a six-month span. In baseball, he was the starting third baseman for the WIAA State Championship team in 1993.

Brent went on to wrestle at UW-Parkside and UW-La Crosse. At UW-La Crosse, he was a conference champion and national qualifier. Here at home, he coached the Wildcat Wrestling Club for many years and was head coach of the East Wrestling team for five years, winning the Pick Coach of the Year Award in 2019. Today, he continues to be an East assistant coach.

Prudence Pick Hway – Distinguished Contributor

Prudence Pick Hway is closely tied to two important parts of West Bend East and West.

Athletics—this West Bend High Schools Carl Pick Stadium and Carl Kuss Field at Regner Park. This field is named for Prudence's grandfather, Carl S. Pick. And, Prudence led the fundraising for the renovation of Carl Kuss Field, where the East and West baseball teams play their home games.

In 1991 she originated the Nancy and Alan Pick Award, which each year is given to the most outstanding senior female student-athletes from East and West. This significant award has brought much recognition to deserving female student-athletes. In 2016, she started the Coach of the Year Award, given to a coach from East or West to acknowledge and reward them for their accomplishments.

Anthony Schlass – West Bend West Class of 2017

Anthony Schlass was a standout student-athlete in football, wrestling, and baseball for West High School from 2013 to 2017. He started for three years as a defensive back and on offense in football. In addition to earning more than 130 wins in wrestling, he qualified for the WIAA State Wrestling Championship three times, placing fifth in 2015 and 2017.

In baseball, he was named first-team all-conference and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel All-Area Team in 2015, 2016, and 2017; Co-Conference Player of the Year in 2017; First-Team All-State in 2016 and 2017; State Summer Player of the Year in 2017; and Dick Falk State Player of the Year in 2017. Anthony led the West baseball team to a WIAA State Championship and a 33-0 record in 2017. His baseball career continued at the University of Oklahoma.

Anthony was named by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel as one of the top 100 student-athletes of the 2010s. Few will forget his barehanded catch of a line drive from the pitcher's mound during the 2017 state semifinal game, which made ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays of the Day.

Steve Hoffmann – West Bend East Class of 1988

Not only is Steve Hoffmann one of the most decorated wrestlers from West Bend East High School; he is one of the most decorated wrestlers in the state of Wisconsin.

Steve's high school wrestling record between 1984 and 1988 was 146-5-1. He qualified for the WIAA State Wrestling Tournament three times, winning it twice and placing second once. In 1988, he was the Central Juniors National Champion, named to the United States High School Wrestling Honor Roll, and was an honorable mention for the United States High School All-American honor.

Steve took his talents to the University of Wisconsin, where he was a letter-winner from 1989-1993. In 1990, he was the United States National runner-up and a member of the US World Cup team that competed in China.
