Youth State Tourney 3/24/12

During the state tournament I got the idea to look back at my senior son's first youth state bracket when he qualified as an 8 year old. It was great to see how many of those kids were not only wrestling, but enjoying a lot of success. Here are the 45, 48, and 51 lb. bracket results from 2012:

45 lbs.

1 - Noah Tonsor
2 - Joey Showwalter
3 - Parker Heintz
4 - Luke Dux
5 - Kaleb Casey
6 - Colton Gutenberger (Montana State Champ this season)

48 lbs.

1 - Troy Dolphin
2 - Dylan Ellefson
3 - Treyton Ackman
4 - Chance Suddeth

** I believe Grayson Clark didn't make it out of regionals (He turned out OK  )

Quite a list of wrestlers who have become great young men. Best of luck to all of them.

It if fun to go back and look at these and see how many of these kids have been wrestling each other for 10+ years. Greyson was actually at 51 - got beat by Preston and Drew at the Merrill regional. These are all great kids, so many great memories getting to know them and their families over the year, hard for me to believe in the next two years they will all be out of high school!
