As expected numbers were down in number of state qualifiers and sectional qualifiers.  I haven't done the data on number of participants at the conference tournament but it seemed to me like there was an abnormal amount of teams with 10 or less guys in our conference.

I sparked my own curiosity and then I went deeper than I was expecting too.  My hunch was not wrong on the number of athletes this year.  It was substantially lower than normal.  It's also interesting to see the trend of of teams getting smaller.  I think most of us already knew that but it's different when you can see it so easily.

Also, with team numbers being smaller now, Madison Edgewood really wouldn't be the odd duck anymore.  It would actually be easier for them to get their team up and running again.

Handles II

The addition of Wisconsin Rapids-Lincoln to Sectional C, where 7 of the  Badger Conf teams compete, made an impact.  Rapids sent 6 to State from that Sectional.

Great info. Thanks for doing it

Sudden Death

Why does the conference do a 1st team of each side of the conference instead of just 1 first team and 1 2nd etc?
