With a few more 4x Time State Champions crowned this past weekend, it got me wondering if any 3x time state champion lost in his bid for a fourth? I know some three time state champs have won two and then lost as a junior and then won as a senior, but i can't remember any three time state champ that lost as going for four.

The kid I was afraid of, Jeremy Maye. Lost in the finals in 98 (maybe 97) to a kid he tech falled the weekend prior. I would argue with people in college that he was the best WI wrestler. I'm fairly confident he would check with his dad in the stands waiting for the OK to pin kids  ;D
