Change the Format?!?!?!

Why is the tournament 3 days long?  Is this preferred by the majority of the coaches?  Seems unreasonable to be 3 days for one 16 man bracket and two 12 man brackets.  Especially considering the format of losing your first match situation. 

That reminds me, talking with some HC's, the seeding is a move in the right direction, but something they brought up that makes sense is this, the tournament needs to be moved to a double elimination.  Considering, it pays to be the 16, 15, 14 and 13 seeds, because you know the guy you lost to is most likely going to win his 2nd match. 

What needs to happen to change the format of this tournament?  Can it happen?
