Maybe we should only take 2 from bonduel sectional. It's historically weak

Richland center wins 106, 113, 120, 126, 132 with both finalists, 152 with both finalists, and 170. Their only finalist loss was at 220... not a bad showing winning 7 of 8.

Division 3
New Rank   Old Rank   High School
1   1   Coleman (Bonduel)
2   3   Fennimore (Westby)
3   2   Aquinas (Westby)
4   4   Iowa Grant/Highland (Westby)
5   5   Cadott (St. Croix Falls)
6   7   Mineral Point (Westby)
7   8   Stratford (Bonduel)
8   9   Shiocton (Bonduel)
9   6   Reedsville (Dodgeland)
10   10   Random Lake (Dodgeland)

Per the last regular season team rankings, the Bonduel Sectional had 3 teams ranked in the top 10. Dodgeland had 2 ranked teams. St. Croix Falls had 1. I think the Bonduel Sectional did not have the top end talent that they have had in the past, but they did have several deep teams and deep weight classes. Historically weak is a poor and insensitive statement.

With a few more state champs the SCC Regional could win a dual meet vs the other 15 regionals combined.  Keep improving  ;)

I think that was sarcasm.

St. Croix Falls had a couple wrestlers (138, 195) on their regional roster with very few matches during the season, and these wrestlers advanced to state... hence probably one of the reasons they why they were under-ranked. Great postseason run so far by them. Young Marko has improved.

It seems SCF will most likely be D2 next year, per enrollment numbers.

Would have been fun to see Stratford in that sectional vs Cadott and SCF, they impressed at individual state.

20 of the 42 (basically half) of the state qualifiers from Amery sectional came from SCC regional. Also, more than one 3rd place finisher that would have likely made it through. Being that the average regional has 10.5 state QUALIFIERS (1.75 Finalists), that's pretty crazy!!! Would be interesting to compare to best regional in Richland Center sectional.

Ideally, the WIAA should look at the numbers and the strength of returning teams, and draw up more appropriate regional matchups.
