How do the weigh ins for state work?  Noticed most kids are 3 over?

As the calendar moves on in the year, at certain points of the year the weight class goes up. At Christmas, the weight class goes up 2 lbs. So 106 becomes 108, 113 becomes 115, etc. On February 1st, another pound allowance is given. So 106 is now 109, 113 is now 116.

Some teams also had a snow day on Wed which gives them an additional pound on Thursday.  Add another pound for consecutive day tournaments so I think by Sat they will be allowed 5 lbs, 3 for the normal growth allowance this time of year.

It used to be Feb 1 for that 3rd pound but now it's the day regionals start.  Then on March 1st, they get another pound I believe.  This would just affect the team state this year.
