How can you not be excited to see this young man in the motion W singlet! Going to be fun to watch him next year!

What's realistic for next year? I feel like anything less than top 5 is an insult.

I would think he has the goals of being on the top of the podium for sure. Without sounding like a like I am not hopeful, I wouldn't say if he doesnt finish high would be insulting. The college season is long, lots can happen. Injuries, a bad month or just plain tough competition. Winning a NCAA title is pretty tough to do when you figure in all that goes into a championship season.

I do not think insult is the right word.  Based on resume and results so far, I think top 4 is a pretty good projection at this point, but a lot of things can happen.  We have seen a lot of times where greco success does not translate at all to high end folkstyle.  I do not think that will be the deal here, but Thielke is a good reminder greco success does not mean folkstyle success.  Amos obviously has a lot of success in all styles to date.

He has some time to prepare, but it will also be interesting how big of impact his cut to 197 will be.  He is not tall, so that should help, but the cut may not be easy right away.

Thielke came to my mind as well. Nothing against Thielke, but when he came in folks "bet the ranch on him" and it puts a lot of unnecessary pressure on kids who are just 18 years old. While Amos does indeed seem to wear an "S" on his chest, I think the fan base would do well to give him his space and let him grow into his first year of collegiate wrestling.

Also, great interview and Amos sounds like a fine young man with great skills .
Merely having an opinion doesn't necessarily make it a good one

Also have to remember that 197 is a very deep/strong weight. Much stronger than some weight classes. The #10 and #11 were top ranked guys at the beginning of the season. I

Ben Darmstadt from Cornell may have been the champ this season if the Ivies didn't boycott.  His height will be something for Amos and all of the 6' and below 197's to contend with.

What does Michigan do with Patrick Brucki and Myles Amine?

I look for Caffey to go back down a weight class next year.

Does anyone know why Jesse Thielke is not wrestling at the trials? Currently ranked 6th at 60kg and he was qualified based on being a 2018 world team member.
