It was a pretty well run event, especially for the first year.  I would like to see the community division be your town's actual middle school team rather than just kids that come to wrestle for your club or academy.  Missed watching Amery but only 5 points scored on them in 3 duals, wow!

This was a awesome idea and glad that the wrestler from central Wisconsin battle club where able to have the opportunity. We had 4 quality duels with 3 of them going our way and 1 not. We ended up in 3rd place and had some great matches and hope to be able to attend next year

Amery is going to be a force to be reckoned with very soon! Their middle school program as well as underclassmen are very talented. Watch out Ellsworth.

I think a lot of people forget the jumps Ellsworth continually makes, this topic has been brought up numerous times with Amery's middle school being so prestigious... however it seems as if Ellsworth makes huge jumps between 10th and 11th grade years with the faces in their program. This battle will be very fun to watch pan out.

It seems to me that Ellsworth and L/C make improvements to their team from the start of the season to the end of the season than anyone else.

Gosh, what would be fun if the d1 winner took on the d2, d3 winner.

Holy smokes the way amery dominated it would have been fun to see them against the d1 or club teams.

I know, i know you wrestle where you are entered but it is fun to dream  ;D

I heard that 2 or 3 Division 1 clubs were turned away due to being full. I hope there are more Division 2 and 3 clubs that are able to do it next year.

I think a lot of D2/D3 schools struggle to fill weight classes with wresters that would be competitive..  Maybe a little top heavy with weight classes, and I say that as the father of a big kid..   skew the weight classes more between the range of 85 and 120 and smaller schools could fill some of those classes with younger, but competitive wrestlers..  not many small schools have can fill even half of 130, 140, 150, 165, 184 and 250 even just throwing bodies out there..  make it 135, 160, 185, and 250, and put the extra 2 weights lower, and I think more teams could field a team..  would they?  I don't know..

I would watch for Neillsville as well, they are very good from what I've been told.

Neillsville has quite a few really good MS wrestlers..  Saw them up close at the Neenah MS duals.. Gonna be a team to watch in HS the next few years for sure!

Agreed the average middle school kid is not 140 pounds. Most middle school are 90-110.

Its not easy but if you start filling those classes now it will be easier to fill in high school.  Id hate to see cutting big guys out already in middle school.

I'm not saying cut them out but why have forfeits if you could have kids wrestle? I would like to see more weight classes around 100.

Jeez aarons23 you don't need to start the "no cutting weight classes" argument here too. They're just trying to give some input on what might be a way to better fill these duals with more kids. I agree fully with the others. spread out those heavier weights and add a couple where the kids are. No one is trying to "cut" big guys. This just gives your average middle school team with 15-20 kids a better chance to fill all the weights.

I would say then add some around 100....but dont reduce tbe uppers....this is tbe time to get those football players to wrestle...get them hooked and experience in the middle school so we have them for high school.  I dont doubt 185 and heavy becomes hard to fill....id rather see it empty than not a chance to get those kids as part of the team.

Yea it's just hard when you have 4 kids who weigh 100 and then 0 kids above 170. So your forfeiting matches but have to sit quality kids because the weight classes are so spread out.
