To early to tell without seeing the brackets and knowing the allotments.  A good over/under I think is 6.5

I was looking at 165 and the top 4 are all from the B10.  I don't see them getting seeded 1-4 so placing high at B10s could be very important.  What are the most consecutive seeds in a row from the same conference starting from the 1 seed?  At 125 last year did the B10 go 1,2,3 or was Dance in there?

Interesting question. I know for certain that Kokesh, brown and evens were the top 3 seeds a couple years ago at 174. Going to have to think about this for any others recently.

I know my senior year (2010) was stacked. I would bet that at least one of those weights had top 3 seeds as big ten. Not too confident I can think of one where there could've been 4 though.

Found one - 141 in 2009 - Russell, jaggers, Tanelli and tsirstis.

Not exactly top 4, but a few years ago (2014 and 2015) the Big Ten HWTs dominated. 2015,  6 of the top 8 placers at the NCAA (with similar seeding) were from the Big Ten.  In 2014 the Big Ten HWTs were seeded #1, #3, #4,, #5, #6, #7, and #9.  They placed, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
Gwiz was the HWT with the #2 seed in 2014, and obviously won in 2014 and 2015.

All 10 Badger starters have been ranked in the Top 20 at some point this year.

Since 33 qualify for Nationals, all 10 have the potential to qualify for the NCAA's. Our team record for qualifiers may be 7 or 8.

Not sure how many allocations we will have - the next month will determine that.  Because of the low numbers of matches for TJ @ 157, I think he will have to place high at the Big Tens because he would not be able to get a wild card.

If that is the case Jiminez is in trouble as well for AQ. Would Jiminez Midlands be taken into account even though he was unnatached.

Can they put the red shirt back on?

wrastle63

He shouldn't have been redshirting in the first place.

Is there a match minimum to be an automatic qualifier or to get an allocation?

Wisconsin Wrestling Fan

Well, maybe 8 is the minimum if you have a winning record?  It says you need 17 matches to get an RPI

Does someone know, or have a link, to find out how many Badgers have qualified for Nationals, year by year?  It would be interesting to see how many they average.  I tried to find it, but I am having no luck of a breakdown.

Last year they realeased the NCAA coaches ranking of the top 33 wrestlers in each weight class on Jan 21. Last year we only had 4 in the top 33. I would project that we have at least 7 or 8 in the top 33. Quite an improvement over last year.

2015 133 weight, NCAA seeds:
1. Dardanes-Minn

3. Clark-Iowa
4. DiJulius-OSt
5. Richards-Ill

Eventual winner??  Brewer the #13 seed from Oklahoma

That is crazy, top 5 seeds all B10.  Would have never guessed they could get top 5.

All 10 should be in the top 33 unless the number of matches wrestled is an issue

That would be awesome! Good step for the program if we could get all 10 there.
