Branch Adds Two More Wrestlers to 16-17 Roster (Wesley Schultz of Sun Prairie WI)

Wesley Schultz | Sun Prairie, Wisc. (Iowa Lakes CC) | 184 pounds

Schultz was an NJCAA Runner-up and All-American at 184 pounds last season at Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, Iowa. He recorded three pins and a technical fall on his way to the finals. A graduate of Sun Prairie High School in Sun Prairie, Wisc., he captured the 2014 Division I 182-pound WIAA state championship.  He finished his senior season with an unblemished 47-0 record.  As a junior, Schultz finished third in the WIAA state championships.  He placed fifth at the 2014 USA Wrestling Junior Folkstyle Nationals earning All-American honors.  Schultz ended his career with a 142-47 record and was ranked as the number twenty overall wrestler by Win Magazine in his respective weight class.

Mark McConnell | Lander, Wyo. (Lander Valley HS) | 125 pounds

McConnell was a two-time state champion at Lander Valley High School. McConell had an outstanding junior season winning a state title with an impressive 49-6 record at 113 pounds. His first state championship came during his sophomore season at 106 pounds. During his junior campaign, he was also the winner of the Ron Thon Memorial Tournament. Last season, McConnell finished third at the state championship at 126 pounds. He is also a community leader as the as the President of the Wyoming State FFA.

The duo joins five other signees in Montorie Bridges, Jaron Jensen, Hunter Mullins, Trent Olson and Sam Turner.

They will need someone to fill in after this loss. Big loss for Wyoming Upper weights, Hopefully Wesley can step in and fill this void
