As mentioned in an earlier post, my son got a great buck, this, his first year hunting. He was really patient and was rewarded on the last day of the season. Thanks guys. That will be a day I won't forget. When he told me to take the gun and shoot, and why, it really showed me what a great young man I've got there. I was squeezing the trigger, but am so glad I stopped, got Bryant to settle down and make the shot himself. Reading the story it sounds like a pretty quick turn of events, but this was probably 45 minutes from the time we jumped the deer out of the bed, to finding him again, to me trying to show Bryant where the buck was bedded, to talking Bryant into taking the shot. That last part was almost 5 minutes of us almost arguing about who should shoot. His smile in the picture is as genuine as can be.
Taxidermist said it will be ready in about another month. Can't wait.

WOW, NICE BUCK!....hunting will never be the same for that young man, he may have to wait many yrs to even see a buck like that again....

Hey guys, I just got notified by outdoor life that a "Wisconsin" buck is in the lead for votes with only a few days left. There are several wisconsin entries, so it could be any one of them.  While I'm just giving a shameless plug for my boy, but since the contest is supposed to be about the best story, I really think he has the best one hands down.
