It's like a small animal road kill plague down here. Unreal.
If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong.

In the last hour I have witnessed a nice array of birds from my kitchen and living room windows. Some on the ground, in trees or on my feeders (suet and sunflower feeders).

At suet and sunflower feeders:
northern flicker woodpecker
downy woodpecker
Red-bellied Woodpecker
english sparrows (invasive)

At sunflower feeders:
White-breasted Nuthatch
goldfinches
Chickadees
hairy woodpecker
In a tree... both appearing in the same branch at different times:
One male and one female cardinal

Out in the lawn amongst the many leafs:
a group of three robins

I don't see any of these lately, but I always thought purple finches were the same (just different name for same bird) as the house finches, but they are not.
