Brewers name Darnell Coles hitting coach

I hope he can teach some plate discipline. I think I would have rather seen someone not as closely connected to the organization.  Some new hitting philosophy would not be a bad thing.

One year contract?  I'm guessing that's a sign to the entire coaching staff (and maybe the team in general)- get it done or we're blowing it all up.

Melvin's and Roenicke's contracts expire after the '15 season, so it wouldn't make a lot of sense to give him a longer contract.

Hitting coaches are hired to be fired anyway. They are always the scapegoat.
