Wrestling: Former UWS coach named to Minnesota Hall
Former Wisconsin-Superior wrestling coach Scot Davis will be among seven enshrined to the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Minnesota Chapter at its banquet Saturday in Austin, Minn.

Davis has never had a losing season in 41 years as a high school and college coach, often turning losing programs into winners. He coached junior high in Bloomington and Burnsville, Minn., while still attending college in the early 1970s. He had high school stints in Belcourt (N.D.), Bird Island-Lake Lillian (Minn.) and Hutchinson (Minn.) before coaching at UWS in 1985-86. He then coached at Owatonna High School (Minn.) for 25 years, winning two state titles, and is now at Flathead High School in Kalispell, Mont.

Davis has the most career varsity wins in the U.S. with 996. He has coached 12 state tournament teams and 15 conference championship teams. He was named National High School Wrestling Coach of the Year in 1998 by the National High School Coaches Association and was honored with a similar award in 2007 by Wrestling USA Magazine.
