Attend Regionals knowing you will not go to Madison if you qualify

While at state this past weekend I got talking to some people and the topic turned to the amount of 3rd place regional finishers that were able to attend state this weekend.

I notice 2 kids that placed at state that finished 3rd at there regionals.

While I dont have the number, it sounded like there was more than usual. Heard a few talk about spring break for some schools and such.

Does anyone have any numbers about 3rd place finishers that attended state this past weekend.
