STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's wrestling team (8-3, 0-3) fell to visiting UW-Whitewater (9-1, 4-1) in dual action, 27-15, on Friday night.

Second-ranked Matt Berlin (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) won a battle of ranked wrestlers at 133.  He earned a 5-2 decision.

At 157, 12th-ranked Luke Smiley (Plainfield, Ill./North) shutout his opponent for a 4-0 decision victory.  Tenth-ranked Brandon Peckham (Plainfield, Wis./Tri-County) also won by decision, 8-2, at 165.

The Pointers other win came with Alex Mischka (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly) winning by fall at 197.

UWSP will head to Illinois for the Pete Willson Invitational on Jan. 28 and 29.  Action starts at 11:00 a.m.
