Athletes Complete Degrees at UWSP

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – UW-Stevens Point Athletics will see 105 former student-athletes receive their degrees at the commencement ceremony on Saturday (May 19) or at the conclusion of the summer session.

12 Wrestling Graduates:
Steve Asmondy (Biochemistry)
Michael Bannach (Wrightstown, Wis./Wrightstown) (Art)
Joe Crook (Spring Green, Wis./River Valley) (Sociology)
Dylan Diebitz (West Allis, Wis./West Allis) (Psychology)
Dominic Gunderson (Hortonville, Wis./Shiocton) (Biochemistry)
Logan Hermsen (Health Science)
Luke Hoffmann (Appleton, WI/Appleton North) (Health Science)
Chris Karl (Physical Education)
Cody Nielsen (Oconto Falls, Wis./Oconto Falls) (Special Education)
Sam Peters (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) (Resource Management)

A bit disappointing that only two are going into education.

Art, Sociology and Psychology could all be a direction to education.  All the rest can become officials!

A bit disappointing that only two are going into education.

With the cost of a college education compared to most public schools starting salary I can understand why.

I am aware but it is unlikely or they would have taken their education track.

That has been the trend; for good reason. I'd hate to think someone would put four years of their bachelorette into one of those without taking education courses with them. That and most teachers need reading licensure to get the better jobs.
