Las Vegas – After a week off from competition, the Wisconsin wrestling team was back in action Friday at the Cliff Keen Invitational.

Three of seven Badgers participating at the tournament advanced to the quarterfinal match of their weight class.

Top-seeded Isaac Jordan breezed through his first three grapples at 165 pounds, winning by pin (1:10) and two decisions (13-3 and 9-3). In the quarterfinal match he met a formidable opponent and Big Ten foe in eighth-seeded Garrett Sutton of Michigan, but Jordan came out on top in a 1-0 nail-biter.

The Urbana, Ohio, product is set to face off with No. 4-seed George Pickett of Cornell in the semifinal match on Saturday.

Ricky Robertson, who came in as the No. 7-seed, won his first match by major decision (8-0), followed by a tight 2-1 triumph in the Round of 32. Then Robertson faced off with tenth-seeded Frank Affronti of Hofstra, prevailing victorious in a 7-6 decision.

The sophomore met another seeded opponent in the quarterfinal match, as Missouri's No. 2 Blaise Butler pinned him in 54 seconds.

Ryan Christensen received a bye and won consecutive matches (2-0 and 2-1) to reach the 184-pound quarterfinal, where he fell, 7-1, to Virginia Tech's Zack Zavatsky.

Wrestling at 125 pounds, Johnny Jimenez went 2-1 on the day. The sophomore received a bye in the Round of 64 and was pinned at the seven-minute mark of his next match against 10th-seeded Barlow McGhee of Missouri.

Jimenez finished with 11-7 and 5-2 victories over Newberry's Trung Duong and Binghamton's Thierno Diallo, respectively.

Luke Rowh was swept in two 141-pound matches on Friday. In a tough matchup against Ohio State's No. 5-seed, Micah Jordan, Rowh lost, 17-4, by major decision. In his second match the Hastings, Minnesota, native dropped a close 6-4 decision to Joe Moita of Columbia.

Rylan Lubeck opened the 149-pound event with a dominant 10-0 win, but top-seeded Levion Mayes of Missouri humbled the junior by pinning (6:59) him in the Round of 32.

In the consolation bracket, Lubeck lost a 1-0 heartbreaker to Navy's Corey Wilding.

Like Lubeck, 157-pounder TJ Ruschell won his first match before losing to the No. 1 seeded wrestler. Ruschell took down Grant Nehring of North Dakota State by a score of 10-1, which was followed by a 10-3 loss to Kent State's Ian Miller.

Ruschell ended the day on a high note, though, defeating California Baptist's Brady Bersano in a 6-2 decision.

The Cliff Keen Invitational wraps up Saturday, as Jordan looks to take the 165-pound crown.

The brackets on Flo show Jimenez losing to Diallo.  Does anyone know definitively if Jimenez won or lost?
