174/184/197 has really struggled at NCAAs the last few years.  Many injuries.  Shane appears to be a really solid pickup (even if only for 1 year).

Max Maylor, Michigan starter at 174 last year, and formerly from Iowa - Grant, transfers to the Badgers!

Welcome Max, hope you do well.  But for those that "love" the signing and think its a "great" signing, you might want to temper your expectations a bit and checkout Wrestlestat.  There, he has a slight losing record in D1 and has never wrestled at NCAAs before.  His most impressive wins might be Alex Cramer of CMU and Kyle Turley.  He also beat Rowley,but lost to Tyler Dow. Not a big risk as he only has one year left.

Just to give some context, Michigan signed Shane Griffith to wrestle at 174 (Cam Amine is at 165) and I expect he sees Wisconsin as a better opportunity.  Good luck!

Maylor has improved quite a bit since his Freshman year. He was ranked by Intermat last year (around 28th). Max had a winning record last season against tough competition.

A great pickup! One of the best wrestlers from Southwest Wisconsin in recent years.
