YES!!

HAVE TO!

The dude had to deal with the Aaron Rodgers saga. Not signing him to his fifth year after doing so with Darnell Savage (who is a below average starter at best) sends a message to Jordan Love that they still don't have any confidence in him.

And if they don't think he's the guy, they don't have a guy who is remotely ready to start NFL games. The dude they just drafted is a career clip-board holder at best.

Sounds ridiculous, but $20 million isn't a lot of money in the QB market.
As long as we are keeping score, I've got something to prove

That's a Kohls 50% off and get Kohls cash with it type of deal :). I read they could also plan to use the tag if they can't get a long term deal done. $20M like you said is too cheap not to take advantage of if you think he's the guy which you better have if you dealt a way a 4X MVP, HOF guy, which I'm not complaining about at all.

Yes take the 5th year and explain that long term deal is in the works. Or just offer him a 70 for 3 years if he has a good year this year. Then 27ish and can look for that 5 to 10 year 9 figure deal.

The Packers and Love came to an agreement yesterday that his 2024 season is a $13.24 million deal that has incentives to $22.27 million.

I'm guessing they are very reachable incentives.

Good start. Gives the team room and allows Love to make more money.
