We are actively looking for teams for our Battle by the River youth dual tournament on Sunday January 22nd in Wisconsin Rapids! There will also be a scramble format tournament coinciding with the duals, so bring your whole team!
Where: Wisconsin Rapids, East Jr. High Fieldhouse
When: Sunday January 22, 2023 at 9:30am
Age Group: K-5
Weight Classes: 45, 50, 54, 57, 60, 63, 69, 72, 76, 80, 85, 90, 100, HWT
*in the past we had done 3
representatives per weight class.
For example there would be a 45a,
45b, 45c. But are deciding if we
Might change it to only 1 rep per
weight class.
Weigh Ins: We will not be doing weigh-ins and will be going by the honor system. Coaches have a right to challenge a wrestler's weight and we will have a scale matside. Wrestler must be within 2lbs of weight class.
Cost: $250 per team
Other Info: 1-1-1 periods, 3 to 5 duals per team, trophies to 1st thru 3rd place teams.
There will also be a scramble format tournament in which each wrestler will have 2-4 matches. Wrestlers are matched by weight, grade, and skill.
This is a very fun tournament and gives the kids a chance to get a taste of the team aspect of wrestling! It's a great way for the kids to bond and be cohesive as a team!
Don't be discouraged if you wouldn't have enough kids to field a full team. We can do our best to pair up teams to form one. If you're a smaller club, feel free to team up with another similar club in your area!
