It is an exciting week for the Wisconsin Regional Training Center. It is a new week and that means there is another opportunity for our wrestlers to compete!

The Wisconsin RTC will be sending a handful of wrestlers out to Las Vegas to compete at the US Open taking place at the South Point Casino.

The Wisconsin RTC's contingent will be made up of 4 Men's Freestyle participants and 2 Women's Freestyle competitors.

Ethan Rotondo, Seth Gross and Austin Gomez will be wrestling in the Senior Men's Freestyle competition. This group will start competition on Friday, April 29th. The Senior Men's Freestyle competition will take place on April 29th and April 30th.

Joe Zargo, will be the lone Wisconsin RTC wrestler to compete in the U20 Men's Freestyle tournament. The U20 tournament will take place on April 29th and April 30th.

Both Ronna Heaton and Erin Golston will be wrestling at the US Open in the Senior Women's Freestyle competition. The Senior Women's Freestyle tournament will take place Thursday, April 28th and will conclude on Friday, April 29th.

In Men's Senior Freestyle, both Gross and Rotondo will compete at 61kg. Gomez will round out the senior level trio, being registered at 70kg.

Erin Golston will be competing at 50kg and Ronna Heaton will be wrestling at 53kg as they look to bring home National Championship hardware.

Wow! Super cool that Austin is going. I do not recall ever watching a freestyle match of his but obviously his style should make for exciting FS matches. He is registered at 70kg in a massive bracket with a lot of intriguing matchups.

Makes sense thanks. Wonder why he is not listed as Wisconsin RTC. Maybe Rhino is paying his entry fee or he has an NIL deal with them.

Will we see anyone on our roster try for a junior world team spot next month? I'd imagine Amos is too old but Hamiti might still be a junior. Him and Facundo (PSU) would be a great rematch from last year's trials. I believe he lost a close match where he was behind facundo but could not break his quad pod.
