The Cheesehead Inv. is excited to announce we will be hosting the Cheesehead Duals on Thursday, January 6th at River View Middle School in Kaukauna, WI. These duals will feature three Nationally ranked teams from Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota. MatScouts #32 Southeast Polk, IA, #39 Simley, MN and #42 Lockport, IL will all put it on the line. Come watch some great duals and stay for an outstanding invitational. The best of both worlds! If you cannot attend in person we will be live streaming the duals on Illinois Matmen. Illinois Matmen will also live stream the semi finals and 1st, 3rd and 5th place matches of the Cheesehead Inv.

We discuss the new teams joining the tournament, the tri between three nationally ranked teams (Simley MN, Lockport Township IL, Southeast Polk IA) taking place the night before the tournament, and then jump right into our preview of every weight class. We look at nationally ranked wrestlers, potentially big matches, and just take in how stacked each weight class is in their own way. Too bad you were not correct because just think how cool that would have been if Hillsboro, WI (one single returning sectional qualifier who went 0-2 at sectionals) and 15 total kids skinfolded, would have beaten Arrowhead, Stoughton, and Rapids at the Cheesehead.

I admit to knowing absolutely nothing about Hillsboro (WI) high school wrestling. That would be a fantastic story if it actually happened.
Great tournament I think for Kaukauna and Amery. Arrowhead and Stoughton had nice tournaments as well. I think Stoughton was especially impressive with only half their team at the tournament.
Too bad Amery didn't have their full lineup. Missing a couple good wrestlers.

Kaukauna and Amery were impressive, not sure how many points Amery's missing wrestlers get them but probably finish ahead of Kaukauna with everyone. Arrowhead looked good, they have some studs. Stoughton was missing some kids but their main one was Dow. Rapids had 5 starters out and 2 freshman wrestling up a weight class.

if my math is close to correct both would've had to place around 12th, or something along the lines of 11th and 15th places, for them to overtake Kaukauna. Definitely doable but not a sure thing at cheesehead.

Probably placed 5-6 which would have gotten them close to 460 points.
Amery and Rapids each at their best would be close.

I don't think he finishes that high, 145 was loaded. Robert Flege #4 D3 finished 12th , Nick Alexander #6 D2 finished 14th , Nathan Vandehey #2 D2 finished 9th and Cody Goebel #1 D1 finished 3rd. I'm not sure who Beese is but 132 wasn't nearly as deep and a top 15 finish is possible if he's pretty good. Now if Tylee was at 160 he may have finished much higher and then Amery would have been very close to Kaukauna.
Tylee might be 160 this year. Not sure.

Of course he is at 160. hasn't wrestled in 30 days so we can assume injury.
Beese at 32 hasn't wrestled all year but I think Amery is expecting him back along with Tylee.
