💥Wisconsin RTC Athlete Announcement💥

After finishing a storied collegiate wrestling career, 2-time NCAA finalist and 2018 NCAA Champion, Seth Gross will be joining the Wisconsin Regional Training Center as a resident athlete.

Gross said "I am excited to officially be a part of the Wisconsin Regional Training Center and I am pumped about the opportunity it gives me to continue to chase my goal of becoming an Olympic Champion."

Gross has already qualified for the 2020 Olympic Trials, which has now been postponed. Gross said, "fully focusing my time on freestyle and working with coaches that have been on World and Olympic teams, I truly believe that I can reach every single one of my goals."

With Gross staying in Wisconsin, he will be able to make an impact in the sport of Wrestling as he will hold a coaching position with the Wisconsin Wrestling Federation. Gross will also be instrumental in helping UW wrestlers progress and reach their goal.

This is tremendous news for the Badgers and the RTC. Not surprising. Let the flow of little guys begin!

This really is tremendous! and huge shout out to Seth Gross for staying a Badger!

Now I do have one topic to discuss regarding the RTC.  It seems difficult to be an active follower of the RTC not knowing who is on the Roster or when they'll be competing.

Women
1. Jayden Laurent - Is she part of the RTC? or did she go back to Lakeland? I saw she took second at WCWC
2. Ronna Heaton - Active athlete in the RTC, engaged to SG!
3. Ainslie Lane - She's dating Moran; but Presbyterian College in Oklahoma also lists her on their roster.

Men
1. Nick Becker - Active Athlete in RTC
2. Newton Smerchek - Hasn't competed but seems to be active.
3. Seth Gross - Newly Committed!
4. Ryan Christenson - ???
5. Jens Lantz - ???
6. Jared Scharenbrock - I heard he is working at Trek and isn't with the RTC any longer.

Will Moran or Martin stick around?

What is going on in Iowa? First Perry, now Gilman is leaving their RTC, and going to State College?

Dieringer is back in the upper midwest....however on the wrong side of Lake Michigan.

I wonder if our RTC was in the recruiting process on getting Alex?

In terms of funding, it would have probably been difficult to bring in Dieringer shortly after Gross.  I assume funding going into the next year will be even more difficult than normal given the circumstances.

When your at the top, schools come calling.

Gilman had an interesting interview with Ben askren on the rudis podcast. Actually a good listen.

Sounded like there wasn't really a recruiting process. Would have been great for him to come back home, but Michigan has a great training situation with Amines, Abounader, Massa, etc.

I'm sure folks know this, but I wanted to bump it back up.

Anyone shop Amazon?

If you go to smile.amazon.com, you can make the

Wisconsin Regional Training Center Inc

your charity of choice. It then donates a small amount of money per purchase to the charity you choose.

Speaking of Seth, and smile.amazon supporting the Wisconsin Regional Training Center, it is a perfect segway into another great and easy way to support the RTC.

Seth Gross is purchasing his first home this week and because he is using me as his Realtor, a large portion of my commission (several thousand dollars) is getting donated back to the RTC.  Seth couldn't be more excited to be a homeowner and it's win/win/win for all parties involved!

Additionally, this past weekend, another former Badger All American reached out to me because he has a friend moving to the Madison area who needs a Realtor.  A large portion of that commission will also go back to the RTC when it closes!

And it doesn't have to be just the Madison area.  I can connect with Realtors all over Wisconsin and The United States and can have part of the Real Estate Commission sent back to the Regional Training Center!  So if YOU know anyone anywhere looking to move and needing a Realtor, Let's connect and get some money back to the RTC!!

It's always a great day to be a Badger!!

We will never have an elite program at Wisconsin without an elite RTC.

I had a great conversation with someone today about wrestling, and it became very apparent that Bono is fighting a mountain-like climb. We (people who follow Wisconsin Badger wrestling) won't do what it takes to be great. That's finding constant revenue.

Senior level guys need to support their families during their quest to be Olympians.

Where's our RTC guy? Please come on and tell us how many donors there are.

We have 54 donors that currently give monthly ($10 or more).

For Comparison sake, I saw on the social media accounts for the Hawkeye Wrestling Club, Iowa has over 500 (FIVE HUNDRED) donors!!

And Ghetto, I agree with you wholeheartedly that in order to have an elite college wrestling program, we need an elite RTC.  We need lots more than 54 donors to do that!!

Ghetto, I agree
