Very few have been as important to wrestling in Wisconsin, and especially in Stoughton, then LaVerne Pieper. One of the most successful coaches ever.

In his free time, he also reffed college matches. Truly a man who built wrestling in this state to a new level.

Wis Wrestling community Has lost a true Leader...so sad to hear of this Bad News...I recall coming off the mat at the State Tournament after I had just came out with the win and he was standing right next to coach Pernat and as I was walking by, he decided to point out a few mistakes I had made in the match and how I could correct them, and he wasn't even my coach....that really said a lot to me about the Man.....RIP  Coach will Miss Ya
