Title: EL/HG co-op
Post by: CLC FAN on April 05, 2014, 08:18:35 AM
I have heard from my AD and other CLC coaches that Elkhart Lake will be starting a co-op with Howards Grove next season.  I think this is great for Howards and great for CLC wrestling.  I givea lot of credit to Coach Ward for making this step.  It will undoubtedly send EL up to Division 2, but it will also give them a better chance to field a full team.

I agree, great to hear. I always felt bad for the potential wrestlers in HG that they didn't have a team. It's one thing for small private schools like SL & SC who never had a wrestling history or a super small district like Kohler, but Howards was tough back in the day. There's got to be some wrestlers walking the halls there. Larry seems to be doing a great job building a team in EL...I guess now I should say EL/HG.

For those of you more in the know, is there just no interest in Kohler for wrestling?  I've often wondered why HG and Kohler didn't try a co-op.  Maybe Kohler simply doesn't want anything to do with wrestling anymore.   :'(
