Just thinking back a few years ago about the 1996 Southeast Conference Tournament. Some of the best teams in SE Wisconsin. Does anybody have the the tournament team and individual results? Thank you.
I have it, but I don't know how complete it is. I'll dig it out and post in the morning. IIRC, there were around 46 State Qualifiers in the SEC that year. 15 teams. It was a mini state meet.
Thank you Crossface. You are exactly right. I think we only did that format one year and then the conference alignment changed again. Thank you for your help !
The SEC was 15 teams for 4 seasons from the '93-'94 season thru the '96-'97 season. Then in the '97-'98 season it got knocked down to the 10 team SEC.
Thank you. I didn't think it was around that long. Sure was a meat grinder with some great kids. Maybe somebody has some old results stored away. Would be interesting to see the depth of the weight classes.
If you could make the happen I'd love to see it as well. I think some kids placed higher in state than they did in the conference that year.
I think the seeding meetings were the night before and nobody wrestled the same kids. I believe you wrestled everybody in your division and then a couple of crossovers from the other 2 divisions.

Crossface that is amazing. Thank you, what an unbelievable conference. Glad to have been a part of it ,even if only for a brief period. Some really great wrestling took place!
I have the brackets to the tournament, but no names, just initials of the schools. I started writing out names but figured out that was gonna take too long and I had to wrestle. In '95, it was at Waukesha West and they already had all the names printed in the program so that is complete.
I was coaching at Muskego in 1996. That conference tournament was bananas. Paul Simonsen DNP'd I'm pretty sure at conference and then qualified for state.
Was the 1996 tourney (1995-96 season) at Racine Park? If I'm remembering correctly then the 1997 tourney (1996-97 season) might have been at west allis central and the last one before realignment. That one was also pretty tough.
Good memories - thanks for taking me back a bit!
'94 was at Kenosha Tremper. They had very limited space for mats so it was a Friday-Saturday tournament.
'95 was at Waukesha West
'96 was at West Allis Central
'97 was at Racine Park
I thought for sure 96 was at Park

My senior year was '96 so I know for a fact it was at WAC.
Just checked with a buddy and '97 was at Park.
1997 was at West Allis Central
1996 was at Park
