We could use him in Madison.

No way he's coming to Madison. He wouldn't have transferred if he wanted to be here.
He must have not bought in or taken personal responibility. :o
Don't get Northwestern. Not super stable in regards to coaching staff. Most of the talent left or fell apart. Is he there to work with Tsirtsis?
Of course it would be awkward at Wisconsin. That doesn't make sense anyway unless they are getting rid of Ruschell, which is not happening.
Wasn't Frayer an Oklahoma guy? I don't see any reason to go there otherwise.
Cody Brewer also left Oklahoma. Guess it happens everywhere.

Some speculation is it's closer to home.

Probably right. Plus he might have been showing too much offense and that goes against the philosophy.
Ah how the years make the memory fade.
Howe took less than two shots per match most of his career. Heavy hands on the head, club, club, tie tight. Take the one or two high percentage shots and then hang on.
Didn't really change that up at Oklahoma. I liked watching Howe wrestle, but he wasn't the most offensive guy.
Could it be that Northwestern matches his Wrestling and Academic desires. Seems we forget about the Academic reasons here on the forum.

It was sarcasm my memory hasn't faded on Howe's style.
From the listing of coaches at NW noted in the article, it would almost seem that they have a 1 to 1 ratio with wrestlers on the NW team ;) It's getting close.

Oh, Woody, what could NW POSSIBLY offer in terms of academics?

Howe wasn't accepted into Michigan. I doubt his academic "desires" will allow him to excel at Northwestern.

It is easier to transfer once you have been excepted at a D1 school. Also doesn't mean his academic performance hasn't inproved.

Howe was attending UW and tried to transfer to Michigan. He was not "excepted" (accepted) as a transfer while at a D1 school. Maybe his academic performance improved, but to the level of Northwestern's academics is unlikely. Like a previous post said, it is most likely because it is closer to home.

Are you suggesting that Howe has yet to graduate (from OU)? Being hired at NW as a coach would stand separate from any issue of being accepted as a student at NW, wouldn't it?
I am confused as to why his acceptance as a student is even being raised here - can someone clarify what (if any) issue is the point of this commentary?

Yes, why would a Student Athlete be able to transfer, just for the Academic reasons. That is what I was trying to get across. Yet my grammar and lack of understanding that Life is all about wrestling is what is questioned.
