Rutgers Wrestling to Appear in Four Nationally Televised Big Ten Network Matches
Scarlet Knights tie for most BTN matches among league schools

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Oct. 5, 2016) – Rutgers wrestling is set to appear in four nationally televised matches on Big Ten Network, released Wednesday. The Scarlet Knights' four TV duals, all coming on the road, are tied with Iowa, Ohio State, and Penn State for the most among league schools.
Rutgers opens its TV slate with its Big Ten opening dual at Maryland on Sunday, Dec. 11 at noon. The Scarlet Knights have won their last two meetings against the Terrapins.
The Scarlet Knights' remaining TV matches are all scheduled in January, beginning with Ohio State on Sunday, Jan. 8 (noon) and Penn State on Friday, Jan. 13 (7 p.m.). RU's final BTN match comes on the road at Michigan State on Sunday, Jan. 29 (2 p.m.).
RU competed in one BTN-televised match last season, defeating No. 23 Purdue, 24-15, to close the dual season on Feb. 14, 2016.

The Scarlet Knights (16-5) ended last season ranked No. 10 in the USA Today/NWCA Division I Coaches Poll and qualified all 10 Scarlet Knights for the NCAA Championships for the first time in program history. Nine NCAA qualifiers return to the lineup this season for Rutgers and will mesh with a recruiting class that ranked No. 9 in the nation by FloWrestling and No. 10 by Intermat.
