Mel Dow was on the TV broadcast tonight. He was asked what the next "big" thing in wrestling will be as far as changes for the better. He stated that the coaches drive the decisions. We rehash this all the time, but what are the next things that should be pushed by the WWCA for our sport? A few things I've thought of:

1. Double elimination at State-these kids work way too hard to possibly be one and done
2. Girls at the Kohl Center at the same time of boys-I get why it was at LaX this year, but this needs to move to Madison ASAP
3. Team Sectionals-the Tuesday night duals and the whole team thing determined by and individual tournament is stupid
4. Weight management system(Dow did mention this)

What else?

1.Seed  the 4 sectional champs in D2/D3.
Put their respective sectional opponents on the other side of bracket.

Do not seed anyone else! Guys you beat at sectionals should not get a higher seed than you at state.
No seeding criteria or algorithm can fix this.

2. Super regional!!! Send 4 from each super regional to sectionals.   Been voted on by coaches numerous times and nothing gets done about it.    Get it done COACHES!!!

All divisions 16 man brackets and double elimination.  Because of seeding now, the lowest seeds will always get a second match and kids that are probably better may not.

I agree with some of these, except seeding the 4 sectional champs and nobody else.. some sectional brackets are less competitive. seed them all accordingly, and then have coaches vote for final seeds on Sunday after sectionals, and then you'll have a very good product.

Double elimination is very easy to do, as there are long breaks friday and saturday and another round can fit in. Going 8 mats is a good idea, as there probably is enough room to stretch the floor a bit.

Alot of entertaining matches, It was great to end with Vito taking down the Stoughton young man.
