I lived in San Diego when Tony Gwynn played for the Padres. At that time he was the only reason to go to games. If he was hitting in the 8th or 9th, people would stay until he hit, and then leave. Great hitter with an amazing eye.

Man we are getting old.

When I think of Gwynn, I always think of Wade Boggs also. Two great hitters that dominated their respective leagues. 5 batting titles for Boggs and 8 for Gwynn.
