FOUR PLACE AT USA WRESTLING SENIOR NATIONALS

This weekend, we had four wrestlers head to the USA Wrestling Senior National tournament in Coralville, Iowa. All four members of the Wisconsin RTC placed in the top 4 of their brackets.

On Friday, the competition started with the light weights of the Women's Freestyle competition and Men's Greco-Roman Action.

Ronna Heaton was back in action at 53kg for the Wisconsin RTC in Women's Freestyle. Ronna took 2nd place after going 1-1 in her bracket. Heaton advanced with an 8-2 victory in her first match before falling in the finals.

Braxton Amos, also competed on Friday in Greco-Roman at 97kg. Amos, the 3rd seed, finished in 3rd after going 4-1 in his first senior level competition!

Wrestling continued on Saturday and into Sunday with Men's Freestyle competition where we saw both Evan Wick & Trent Hillger compete.

Evan Wick competed in the 74kg bracket where Wick went 5-2 on the weekend in a very strong bracket to take 4th place.

Trent Hillger, who wrestled in the 125kg bracket entered as the 6th seed. Hillger finished the day in 4th place after going 3-2 in the tournament.

UP NEXT:

The Wisconsin RTC will next be in action November 13-15 at the USA Wrestling Under 20 & Under 23 National Championships in Omaha, Nebraska. The U20 Championships is currently slated to be a qualifier for a World Team spot!

Due to Covid, our previous method of funding for this trip is unavailable. With that being said, we are asking for help to cover the cost of this trip, so that our wrestlers have the opportunity to compete at no cost!

This may have been answered, but what place do guys have to take to get an Olympic Redshirt? Are there other opportunities to compete and make that happen?
As long as we are keeping score, I've got something to prove
