The landscape of college wrestling has changed. Wrestlers are entering college more prepared to compete now than ever. Years back it would have been unheard of for guys to be at there best as freshmen but with injuries and burn now we see it from time to time. Who would have thought that Schlatter would never win another title. Guys are wrestling year round, traveling the country, and making weight year round from a very young age and that takes a toll. It can be hard to come with the physical and the emotional energy is requires to be at the highest level for 4 years. Can you imagine how many more matches today's super wrestlers have wrestled prior to college compared to Lee Kemp? Lee started wrestling as a freshman and made varsity as a sophomore (11-8-3). I think this is one of the reasons he was able to peak in college and beyond. Lee probably had less than 100 matches prior to college and I imagine many wrestlers now are approaching 1,000. I found this interesting stat online.

1996-2014
Freshman: 10 champs, 3 repeated, 7 won again at some point, avg 2.5 titles per wrestler (J'den Cox and Jason Tsirtsis are still active)

Umm No, wishful thinking, IMAR wins by 3-4 pts in my opinion.  The only guys at 165 I don't think he beats are Dieringer and Bo.

And one of Bo's two losses is to Isaac.

Interesting

I know that is interesting but if they wrestled 100 times I would put my money on Bo 100 times lol

We might just find out the answer to that question.

Naaah, I'm not a betting kinda guy. And too, I don't especially care too much about the outcome of the cousins' rematch - certainly not enough to be losing money to you on the match. But I do think that people are selling Ike short on this - especially since he has already established he is right there with Bo (since he already beat him). I think folks have a man-crush on Bo.

from what ive heard Issac has had bo's number for many, many years

Micah

Not according to STP, or things I have read, but I have no real knowledge on how things went in the practice room.  Just basing my opinion on visuals, they are close I just lean towards Bo.

I knew you would use the I am not a betting man line (classic).  When we read a line like that we all assume your money would be on Bo too.

Hopefully I am wrong and we get a IJ vs Dieringer Final!  I think no matter what happens between Bo and IJ at B10s if neither picks up another loss they will be 2-3 at NCAAs.

agreed.  Zeke might have been the bigger recruit coming out of high school if he could've wrestled the weight he wanted to there.

You assume to much. My specific expertise is in risk management and I see no need to enter into a risky scenario where the outcomes are so nefarious - especially when the outcome is of little importance to me. I'll save my money for retirement, thanks.

I will wager.

If Zeke wins there is a 2 year moratorium on Badger Wrestling coach and DH bashing from all of you guys and if Bo wins I vow to never post on this forum again. Micah can you set that up?  ???

Drew,

I know you do not need me to fight your battles but it does get tiring how so many threads, no matter what the topic, become "BD has to go and where is Hammen with his excuses"
