Wrestling and Basketball

Each year the Spencer and Marshfield Columbus Catholic basketball teams host a special event, we use the night to honor Staff Sergeant Joe Altmann.

This year, we are upping the ante and hosting a wrestling/basketball double-header!  

Joe graduated from Columbus Catholic in 2003 and died serving his country in Afghanistan on December 25, 2011. He was a 3-sport athlete at Columbus and a founding member of the Spencer-Columbus Football program.

All proceeds from the game (gate and 50/50 raffle sales) will be donated to the Joe Altmann Memorial Scholarship Fund. The fund benefits graduating seniors with college scholarships as well as scholarships to attend Columbus.

Please join us on Thursday, January 24th as the SC Wrestling team hosts NGL Wrestling.  Then, stick around to watch the Columbus Dons varsity basketball team host the Spencer Rockets.

Wrestling starts at 5:30pm.  Basketball tips off at 7:15pm.  One admission fee gets you into both events!

Trying something new this season. Should be a fun night. Anyone in the Spencer/Marshfield area come and watch some wrestling, which will include two state champions, and stick around for a BB game. A great event to honor one of our schools fallen.
