Does anyone know exactly how team points are scored at sectionals?  How many place and what are values for each?  Additionally, what are bonus worth?  That is going to make all the difference relative to how important sectional qualifiers are versus how many sectional champs with bonus points.  Teams like Marshfield and Arrowhead can make a strong run at Sectionals with how I'm assuming points are accrued.

It could be different this year but it looks like in the D2/D3 sectionals last year placement scoring went as such:
4th-4 points
3rd-7 points
2nd-10 points
1st-14 points

Usually in track's system a major gives you one point, tech fall 1.5, and pin 2

According to the Wiaa 20-21 tournament procedures:
1st through 6th places
16, 12, 9, 7, 5, 3

So the third place individual at some regionals would score 10+ team points at a super-sectional will now score zero team points due to regional assignments.

Instead of actually having teams complete in duals to qualify for team state, the team selection methods get worse instead of improving over 25 years.  Some people really hate change.

The format for 2020-21 is most likely a one time thing.  This isn't a change for to make improvements.  This is a change that was necessary to allow teams and wrestlers to compete.

From what I can tell in the tournament procedures it is still referencing regionals and not sectionals. By bracket types for individual sectional they're only placing to 4 (14, 10, 7, 4).
2 pt advancement on Championship side. 1 point advancement on consolation side. 2 point bonus for fall, 1.5 TF, 1 for Major Decision.

Still don't understand why the WIAA just didn't combine the two regionals with top four advancing.  This could have been achieved by splitting the 1st seven weights in a morning session with the remaining in an afternoon session.

This would achieve two things.
1.  Making sure the best advance.
2.  It would give the Sectional a better representation of the team portion.
